I have 10+ years experience working as a psychotherapist in the NHS and private practice. I have worked in a variety of settings, from hospitals to private providers and worked with a diverse range of age groups, backgrounds and mental health diagnoses.  There is a lot of information out there about treating mental health difficulties but I place emphasis on seeking out well-researched treatment approaches that have a strong scientific basis. In order to stay up-to-date with the latest developments, I attend regular training and clinical supervision. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). There is scientific research that supports the use of these approaches for a variety of problems. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach and want to take time to understand your unique circumstances before suggesting treatment.  I will usually complete an initial assessment with you to work out your difficulties and goals, and then spend some time formulating a bespoke treatment plan which I will share with you. Therapy is a collaborative process and my aim is to provide you with a safe space to not only understand yourself better but to also identify solutions and ways forward.  My qualifications include: -CBT & ACT therapy (BABCP accredited) -IPT therapy (IPT UK accredited) -Health Psychology (MSc) What do I treat and what approaches do I use? There are many types of therapies and not all therapies can treat all difficulties. Therefore, it is important for your therapist to be clear with you about what therapies they offer and what these therapies can assist with. If your therapist cannot assist with the difficulties you have, they can usually point you in the right direction. I am trained in a variety of approaches; this allows me to adapt my style to your needs and goals. My approaches are: -Health psychology - treating depression and anxiety issues related to living with long term health conditions -Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - treating depression, PTSD and anxiety-related disorders using evidence-based, scientific tools. -Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) - a specific, time-limited type of therapy for those struggling with sleep problems - ranging from disturbed sleep to insomnia. -Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) - a specific therapy that aims to improve your depression by helping you to address the problems that contribute to it e.g. relationship problems, self-esteem issues, grief, going through big life events and changes.

CBT Therapy
This is a therapy that has been extensively researched as effective in treating various mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety and insomnia.
Sleep & Insomnia
Sleep problems are common and do affect a large number of people. One evidence-based approach to dealing with bad sleep or insomnia is a specialist type of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) known as CBT-I (CBT for Insomnia).

With a background in Health Psychology and specialist training in treating individuals with long term health conditions, I offer therapy that looks at understanding the relationship between our mind and body.

IPT is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on improving interpersonal relationships and addressing interpersonal issues.
